Member Spotlight: Stories from the BELONG NYC Community
When you imagine a coworking space, you probably picture people tapping away on laptops, sipping coffee, and occasionally getting on with some work. It looks neat and efficient, but it also feels a bit staged. You might wonder - is that really how people experience these spaces day-to-day?

The reality is that coworking spaces aren’t just desks and Wi-Fi. They are communities built around their members, shared ideas, and flexibility.
We decided to hand the mic over to four regulars at BELONG NYC - no filters, no sales pitch. Just real talk about how they use the space and why they wouldn’t trade it for anything else in Soho.
Story 1 - Hannah. Freelance Writer.

As a freelance writer, I spent more hours battling cafe Wi-Fi dropouts than writing. It felt like every cappuccino had to justify two hours of free internet and a tiny wobbly table.
Then I found Belong, and the first thing I thought was that someone finally understands how to make a fantastic coworking space. I can walk in, store my bags if I have any with me that day, grab a great brew (sorry, local coffee shop), and sit down in a workspace built for productivity.
Belong also offers amazing private meeting spaces NYC, which I use all the time when interviewing clients or having essential meetings. No more apologizing for background noise or blenders going off in the middle of my Zoom calls.
The best part, though, is the people. It’s easy to chat with others here - maybe because everyone's in the same boat. I’ve connected with designers, developers, and marketers, all while working out of one of the best places to work in Soho. Belong made me love being a freelancer again.
Story 2 - Michael. Tech Lead.

My companies based in London, and I’m the only team leader in New York. Initially, that meant endless Zoom calls from my kitchen - usually interrupted by a neighbor's dog barking mid-presentation or the Amazon delivery guy delivering yet more parcels that my wife ordered.
I needed something that worked better for remote collaboration. That's when I found Belongs hybrid work solutions NYC. Every Tuesday, I book a private meeting room (my company pays for this, which is excellent). It’s easy, reliable, and instantly looks professional. I also love it because it gets me out of my flat one day a week, and I’ve met many new people who also work at Belong.
After the meetings, I spend the rest of the day in the coworking space, catching up on emails or putting together some strategy documents. I may have even been known to sneak into the nap pods NYC after my meetings have taken place (trust me, naps boost productivity). Overall, Belong has made work feel less remote and more productive. When my colleagues from London come over, we hire out the space for a big catch-up and meet employees I've never met in person.
Story 3 - Priya (Amazon Product Seller)
As an entrepreneur, I'm always on the move. Airports, hotels, meetings - I love what I do, but travel is sometimes exhausting. I often arrive in NYV before my hotel's check-in or after checkout, stuck with my luggage and needing a place to get some work done.
That's why their luggage storage NYC option was such a relief. I now land, drop off my suitcase with them, and start working immediately. No awkwardly dragging my suitcase around to any meetings I must attend.
It's the flexibility that I love. I use their on-demand workspace NYC whenever I'm in town. Depending on my schedule, I might book a desk for a half day or a full day. I get focused time, comfort (and great coffee) without committing to a long-term membership. Flexibility is something I value in my life, and it's something that BELONG understands.
Usually, my day starts with checking emails (I get far too many), updating my product listings, and making sure everything is ticking over as it should. Around midday, I’ll take a quick break and chat with the other freelancers working here. Sometimes, these conversations can spark new ideas I wouldn't get if I worked at home. It's a workspace that adds value to my day - beyond just a desk.
Story 4 - Rob - Creative Director
Creative jobs are challenging - especially when you’re expected to deliver brilliant ideas every day. Working from home just made me feel trapped in my head. I needed space to think clearly, but also to unwind.
A friend suggested BELONY, mentioning that it wasn't your average coworking space. I was skeptical, but he was right. It became my escape from both home distractions and traditional office boredom. BELONG has such a great atmosphere about it; it's cool without trying too hard. It lets you breathe, think, and be creative without pressure.
When I hit a creative block, I walk around Soho for inspiration, knowing that my belongings are safely behind thanks to their easy locker rentals NYC. If the ideas still aren’t coming, I take a quick reset in one of their brilliant nap pods NYC - 30 minutes later, I’m back in the game.
The Belong Difference
These four people don’t know each other, but their experiences share one clear theme - flexibility. BELONG doesn’t have a one-size-fits-all approach to coworking. Instead, it caters directly to how people work today.
Hannah found community and connection, Michael mastered hybrid team leadership, Priya enjoys stress-free travel and focused workdays, and Rob discovered genuine work-life balance. Each one feels they’ve discovered the secret place in Soho that's built around people - not office chairs.
These stories reflect their experiences and how coworking spaces reshape how modern professionals think about work. The little conveniences like storage, nap pods, meeting rooms, and comminutes make it clear that it's all about the people.
They deliver a sense of community, belonging, and genuine human connection, which can be rare in traditional offices or isolated remote work setups.
